The Council has implemented an online supplies system known as eros(East Renfrewshire Online Supplies), which links electronically into an e-Marketplace provided and managed by our partner organisation, @UK PLC.
This is basically a directory of suppliers, which hosts the e-commerce enabled trading websites of companies.
What do we mean by an e-commerce enabled website?
Most companies may now have a website but does it do little more than provide contact names and addresses and perhaps provide a guide as to the nature of the products and services you offer?
An e-commerce enabled website does all of that but in addition enables your company to accept orders electronically, receive and respond to “requests for prices” electronically and most importantly, submit your invoice electronically directly into the creditor payments system of your customer.
You will be able to list your products with illustrations and maintain an up to date price list. The management of the site is carried out by your own personnel with minimal training from @UK PLC. You can even highlight special offers on your home page. It can be as comprehensive as you require it to be.
Should you already have your own interactive website, @UK PLC can provide a link to it from the Council’s eros system, or other system employed by other customers.
Customers can search by product/service name, or company name and where applicable, can view a full online catalogue from which they can make purchases.
